Cory Davis

Raised on the mighty Flathead River in Northwest Montana, Cory developed a deep connection to the water at an early age. His years navigating its challenging and turbulent waters prepared him for numerous river expeditions across the West.

Cory’s role as Operations Manager at Montana River Guides helped shape his career, providing him with the experience and leadership skills that make him the successful Lead Instructor he is today at the Whitewater Rescue Institute. He has firsthand experience with environmental spill response, having led spill response teams in Iowa and California, as well as training crews across the United States on effective containment and mitigation strategies.

In the winter months, Cory shifts his focus to equipment maintenance and fabrication at the WRI shop, ensuring that gear and rescue equipment remain in peak condition. His expertise, leadership, and hands-on experience in environmental spill response make him an invaluable asset to the WRI team.
