The WRI Training Center, located in Alberton, Montana, plays a central role in many of our courses. The training center’s location is ideal for technical rescue training. We have Class I-V whitewater within walking distance from our classroom and shop. Students roll out of camp, into the classroom, and onto the river in no time at all. The Clark Fork River plays host to our Swiftwater Rescue, Jet Boat and Spill Response Trainings from March through November. If we need to take a break from the river, the prehistoric rocks of the Alberton Gorge are perfect for High/Low Angle Training. And when the river freezes and the snow is falling, we turn our sites on Ice Rescue training. We truly feel fortunate to have such a unique gift as the Clark Fork River valley to call home. And it is even more exciting to share our passion for the river and this place with our students. Call today to sign up or schedule a course at the Training Center.
“I have been in the whitewater industry for 8 years and own a kayaking and rafting company in Missoula Montana. Safety is my number one concern whether it’s kayaking with my buddies on a Class V run or guiding clients on Class I. Zoo Town Surfers did a class with the WRI and it not only brought us together as a team but gave my guides the skills that are required and expected in our industry. These guys have been leading the industry in river safety and will continue for years to come! ”
