The WRI Training Center, located in Alberton, Montana, plays a central role in many of our swift water rescue classes and inland oil spill response courses. The training center’s location is ideal for swiftwater rescue, fastwater spill response and technical rescue training. Located right on the Clark Fork River near Missoula, we have Class I-IV whitewater within walking distance from our classroom and shop. Students roll out of camp, into the classroom, and onto the river in no time at all. The Clark Fork River plays host to our Swiftwater Rescue Training, Jet Boat and Inland Spill Response Trainings from March through November. The prehistoric rocks and cliffs of the Alberton Gorge are perfect for High/Low Angle Technical Rope Training. When the river freezes and the snow is falling, we turn our sights on Ice Rescue training.

We truly feel fortunate to have such a unique gift as the Clark Fork River valley to call home. And it is even more exciting to share our passion for the river and this place with our students. Call today to sign up or schedule a course at the Training Center.

“Whether you are a river-rookie or an experienced boater, WRI tailors their classes to what you need to learn in a fun and challenging environment. Their scenario based teaching approach creates an electric learning atmosphere where you feel like you are in actual river rescue situations. I would recommend them to anybody!”
