Students will learn and practice Swiftwater Rescue, High Angle Rope Rescue, Medical skills, and Navigation and Orienteering over nine days. The goal of this course is to prepare participants to become qualified for rescue organizations that operate in challenging and austere environments. This includes: Search and Rescue, Disaster Response Teams, Wildland Firefighters, Professional, and Volunteer Fire Fighters, and Military Personnel.
The WRI Training Center provides the ideal location for this rescue operator course as it is nestled between the Clark Fork River and Fish Creek State Park. Participants will be challenged both physically and mentally and given opportunities to sharpen their leadership skills. They will receive certifications as a Swiftwater Rescue Technician, Rope Rescue Operator, and Wilderness First Aid Responder upon passing the course.
